Dockrillia teretifolia (Dendrobium teretifolium) or the Thin Pencil Orchid grows on the coastal regions of NSW and QLD. The species is known for its long, thin leaves which dangle downwards and large display of sharp-tipped flowers that give a cascading effect. In NSW, the plant’s preferred host is Casuarina and can be found in humid forests near estuaries. I observed the species in full bloom mid August in the Central Coast.
